As a transformational leader, James Brimm’s career spans across global Strategy Development and Execution. Driving continuous improvement across numerous value chains and systems spectrums has been the hallmark of his professional endeavors. James readily employs empirical and analytical skills, along with innovation and real-world application, to address an infinite number of cost management challenges.
In his previous role as the Executive Advisor to the CEO of SIPCHEM (Sahara International Petrochemical Company), James Brimm advised the previous three CEOs of SIPCHEM—two of whom were recognized by Middle East Forbes among the Top 100 CEOs. He was also the first African American CEO Executive Advisor in the petrochemical sector in the Middle East.
A true “big picture thinker,” James is known for his contagious enthusiasm and motivation. His passion for leadership and transformation continues to positively influence others. He occasionally serves as a guest lecturer and a project resource for research and development initiatives in universities and government organizations.
Beyond his professional achievements, James Brimm excelled in athletics—particularly in wrestling—winning numerous freestyle state and national championships. In February 2022, he was inducted into the Indiana Wrestling Hall of Fame. He received a wrestling scholarship to Michigan State University.
Prior to his executive role at SIPCHEM, James held board positions with several private U.S.-based companies across various industries. He also served in executive roles with Shell International Petroleum (SIPC), Shell Oil Product US (SOPUS), and Shell Lubricants. His global work experience spans Africa, Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
James Brimm holds a degree in Supply Chain Management (SCM) with a minor in Finance from Michigan State University (MSU), a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
